Lagos Slashes Fare By 25%
The new charges are Effective Tuesday, November 7, 2023, the state government said.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has slashed regulated bus and train fares in the state by 25%, effective Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Representative for the Lagos Metropolitan Region Transport Authority (LAMATA), Kolawole Ojelabi, spread the word about this in an explanation on Monday.
As indicated by him, the Governors order followed requires the reestablishment of the half discount on toll for controlled transport and rail transport.
The Governor had on August 2, 2023 reported a half rebate in passage on managed transport and rail transport which finished on Sunday.
"Following requests to the Governor, he has expanded the traveler admission decrease by 25% across the directed transport and rail transport administrations until another audit is reported," the assertion read.
"Inside the three months time of the refund, the siphon cost of diesel hopped from N867 in August to N1,300 in November 2023 addressing around 50% leap."
