Nigeria is expecting a foreign exchange inflow of $10bn in the coming weeks, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has said. 


"What's more, from the stock of Foreign exchange trade through NNPC, expanded creation, decreased consumption, from exchanges like forward deals, from our conversations with sovereign abundance reserves, that are prepared to contribute and give progressed close by that speculation, there is a view of $10 billion worth of Foreign exchange trade in the moderately not so distant future in weeks rather months," Ridge Edun said at the occasion in Abuja.

As per him, President Bola Tinubu has marked a chief request to permit under self control all money in the homegrown economy to supply lawfully obtain a sizable sum of wealth.

"Mr President reported that he had gone to lengths to ease illiquidity in the forex market which we know is extremely tricky right now. The market is illiquid; it's not working as expected on the grounds that there is no stockpile and there are different explanations behind that," he added.

"The arrangement that the President has placed on the table is that he has marked a leader request that actually permits under self control all the money that is in the homegrown economy to supply lawfully obtain a sizable sum of wealth.
"Alongside that, there is one more chief request that permits homegrown issuance of unfamiliar cash instruments so they will have the impetus to give that foreign exchange trade from whatever source."
